We’re now in the third year and it’s always great to see the PMO exhibition go from strength to strength. These are organisations that are also focused on PMO products and services so what better time than the PMO Conference to have a chat with them – see what’s going on in the PMO world.

At the conference you can have pre chats and schedule follow-up meetings directly with the people who know and care about PMOs.

This year we have a few new exhibitors at the conference (we’ll let you know about returning ones in the next article!) and here’s a little insight into who they are and what they’re offering to the PMO profession.

First up:

SeavusSeavus is an interesting one – and a product that could potentially save £££ on your MS Project licencing. It’s a Project Viewing solutions.

It is a cost–effective software solution for viewing Microsoft Project Plans. As the leading viewer for opening .mpp files with over 6million+ users, supporting 100% of the views of Microsoft® Project. It offers variety of features for the people who don’t have a need of a full Microsoft Project license.

You can take a look at that product here \\ Seavus Project Viewer

There is also a 15 days free trial at www.seavusprojectviewer.com

Seavus is a software development and consulting company with a proven track-record in providing successful enterprise-wide business solutions. The company has over 700+ IT experts worldwide with more than 3,500 customers including more than half of the Fortune 500 companies and a globally authorized master distributor for the following Project Viewing applications:

They also have PrimaveraReader which does the same thing for Oracle® Primavera P6. Find more info and get a 15 days free trial at www.primaverareader.com

There is a market need for those cost-effective project viewing solutions as many project team members don’t need a fully featured professional software license to only view the project files. Instead of sharing the projects in PDF, which provides rather static and old-fashioned way of viewing the project details, companies are adopting Project Viewers.

See for yourself at the PMO Conference – the exhibition opens from 8am.

CITII’ve known about CITI for years so it’s great to see them here at the PMO Conference. CITI do top-notch consultancy as well as having a training arm

I virtually bumped into Louise Worsley – one of our speakers this year – online when we were sharing some PMO learnings from the community over in South Africa. Louise is a CITI consultant and a visiting lecturer at the University of Cape Town and she’s just authored a book about Stakeholder Engagement so I just had to have Louise over for the PMO Conference.

You can also visit CITI at the conference – have a look at Louise’s book – listen to her session – and find out more about how CITI work with organisations on business transformation.

MeetingQualityNow here is a tool that should interest and intrigue the PMO – MeetingQualitymeasures the effect of people on a project. The tool does this by “using 45 second assessments for each member of Steering Committees, Project Teams and other Stakeholders. All results are returned within 24 hours to all participants graphically showing their effect on the project. Portfolio assessments on a project by project basis are automatically generated each month for PMO use.

In effect MeetingQuality provides a powerful additional tool to gauge the true health of any portfolio of projects.”

I can almost see a few eyebrows being raised – but I bet you’re intrigued by this. Make sure you schedule time to have a chat with them at the PMO Conference.

Keyedin Solutions

Keyedin Projects is a tool that does everything from projects, programmes and portfolios – an enterprise PPM tool which provides “visibility & control needed to bring knowledge workers together, removing capacity gaps, improving stakeholder engagement & driving real business value from your predictive and adaptive projects. Easily align strategy with execution, ensuring you deliver the right work, in the right way, at the right time, with the right resources.”

There is a free trial available – but talk to them first at the PMO Conference and find out if the tool would be good for your organisation.

There’s also a selection of interesting resources to check out too at the Keyedin Projects website, including Why PPM and PMOs Fail (gulp!) and I read the blog regularly too – check that out.

Clarizen are one of the leaders in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Cloud-Based IT Project and Portfolio Management Services (for the second year in a row) and provide a complete PPM enterprise tool. I first came across them when there was a PMO tools discussion – specifically around a PPM tool that also functions as an app for a smartphone (yes they do that too)

The tool is also promoted as a collaboration tool as well – this caught my eye a few months back as we think about the PMO of the future and what role the PMO could play in this area – you can take a look at the tool in advance of the PMO Conference and schedule some time to talk to them on the day to find out more.

Explosive Learning Solutions

ELSExplosive Learning Systems offer project management and business training – pretty much everything you would need for working in a PMO – alongside the best practice training such as PRINCE2, Explosive Learning Solutions also offer training in areas such as coaching and mentoring; leadership and management and MS Project.

ELS are also known for their work in Organisational Needs Analysis and Learning Design – a useful service for those PMOs that are responsible for PPM development in their organisations.

Talk to ELS at the PMO Conference about your own development or that of your organisation.

WorkfrontWorkfront is an enterprise management tool that puts the emphasis on two areas – enterprise work management and project management – specifically Workfront are the “only cloud-based Enterprise Work & Project Management solution designed to help any enterprise team—marketing, finance, etc” so it’s not just about dedicated project teams and PMOs.

Here’s the “five key ways that Workfront helps its clients to be successful; centralising projects in one solution, managing digital work processes, reviewing and approving digital work, delivering client facing services and governing compliance workflows.”

Take a look at the really comprehensive website that shows screenshots of the tool – then come along to the PMO Conference and ask any questions you like on Stand 14.

Blue Ball Solutions

Blue Ball SolutionsBlue Ball Solutions are the UK’s first Changepoint Partner and has been in the enterprise PPM tool market since 2003. They have a good range of products for any PMO practitioner to check out – including Changepoint – the Professional Services Automation (PSA) tool and Daptiv – the PPM tool.

OrbitilOrbitil are all about business intelligence through analytic tools – just what the PMO is all about. Orbitil have a number of different solutions including Project Orb and Resource Orb. Relatively new to the PPM marketplace (in 2013) their strapline – explore, act, grow – invites PMO practitioners at this year’s PMO Conference to drop by the stand and explore what Orbitil have to offer.
