Coaching Skills for the PMO

Coaching Skills for the PMOThe Coaching Skills for the PMO class is a great one-day class for those looking to learn more about coaching techniques and how they can use them whilst working in the PMO.

Coaching has often been identified as a key skill for PMO professionals. It’s long been mentioned in job advertisements as “coaching and mentoring skills” and more recently with the PMO supporting Agile delivery approaches, the term ‘coaching’ is heard more frequently. This class brings a combination of real practical approaches to use in a variety of settings; excellent exercises to help you try out the different techniques and you’re guaranteed to come away from this class having learnt new behavioural skills. You’ll certainly learn a lot about yourself too!

The class is run by Bekka Prideaux, an experienced executive coach with a background in change and project management. We love that she understands and really gets the PMO role.

Storytelling and the PMO

Storytelling and the PMOData storytelling is such an interesting area for the PMO to upskill in. Working with data and information every day, with our main objective of supporting decision-making means that any new techniques and approaches we can use can only be a good thing.

In this one day class, Felipe Mattei really helps us to get to the practicalities of stories in a project context. He’ll be taking us through story structures and story vehicles. Agile Frameworks and the PMO

Agile Frameworks and the PMOFollowing the success of the Lean-Agile PMO one day class last year, this year it’s another common challenge we’re covering in the Agile Frameworks and the PMO one day class.

This class is aimed at those PMOs which are working in organisations who are thinking about adopting Agile at Scale frameworks. In this class, LeSS, Scrum@Scale, SAFe and Disciplined Agile are covered. The main objective of the class is to provide insights to the frameworks; help you to recognise how the PMO needs to adapt and support each of the Frameworks and understand a typical roadmap for an agile transformation and the key stages for the PMO in the conversion from waterfall to Agile.

Jon Ward is your very experienced trainer for the class – with many years experience in project management and agile transformations. He’s currently an Agile Transformation Director when he’s not delivering the popular Lean-Agile PMO class (now part of PMO Learning)

PMO Services and Capabilities - AIPMOThe PMO provides a service to the change delivery organisation and as part of that remit provides a variety of functions and services. In this two-day intensive course, run by Dr Robert Joslin from the Association of International PMOs, it focuses on a clear method to understand the depth of PMO services and capabilities and maximise the value to their organisation.

It focuses on creating an enterprise-wide PMO Service strategy and the class will cover the piloting, implementing, running and, when necessary, transforming/retiring of one or more services.

This is an advanced level 2 day class for those managing or leading a PMO – or for PMO Analyst level practitioners who are responsible for introducing or improving PMO services. It’s a great class to also undertake if you’re interested in the certification programme which is available from AIPMO.
