Last year’s Pre-Conference Classes included the P3O Study Day. This was the opportunity to gain the P3O Foundation Certification by attending the Study Day hosted before the conference after learners had been studying at home with guidance from P3O author and trainer Eileen Roden.
The opportunity is back this year – and it takes place on Tuesday 11th June and costs just £425.
The idea of the study day was to give experienced PMO practitioners the opportunity to gain their certificate without committing to the full three days of training.
It’s a quick and cost-effective way to gain the P3O Foundation while working at the same time.
How It Works
Learners purchase the P3O best practice guidance – Portfolio, Programme and Project Offices
Then enrol on the Study Day – P3O: Accreditation Day
The day includes final exam revision before taking the exam in the afternoon.
In the weeks running up to the day, each learner is given study guidance; practice exam questions and support from P3O author and trainer Eileen Roden.
It’s designed to help you understand the P3O syllabus plus get into the exam mindset ready for your big day.
The Study Day was attended by 9 PMO practitioners last year – all of them passing their P3O Foundation exams on the day.
Why People Take It
There were different reasons why PMO practitioners opted to take the Study Day – time and cost were big reasons but there were others.
Being able to work at their own pace and around other commitments were key. One delegate said they had been working with the P3O principles for years but had never taken the time to sit the exam and get the external recognition for it. This is a quick and effective way to do that.
Learners found that the learning guidance provided was pitched just right and having the support to ask any questions throughout the weeks in the lead up to the day were also really useful.
What is P3O?
P3O – Portfolio, Programme and Project Offices is the popular certification based course and best practice guidance from AXELOS – the same provider of PRINCE2 and MSP. Since it’s the first edition in 2008, the P3O courses have been taken by PMO practitioners looking to understand the P3O model for PMOs in organisations. Find out more at AXELOS.
The PMO Conference 2019 has been expanded to include these two days of additional learning for PMO practitioners both visiting from places in the UK and for delegates travelling from overseas.
